This Dixon AST30 shank fitting is a King combination nipple made from tubular stock to fit straight end hose for fluid handling applications. It is made of aluminum for resistance to corrosion. It has a 2-1/2" male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded end for connecting to a female fitting and a barbed end for connecting to hose with a 2-1/2" inside diameter (ID). This shank fitting is suitable for low-pressure discharge and suction service and is not recommended for steam applications or compressible products such as air or nitrogen.Hose fittings connect, control, change the direction of, and terminate the flow in piping and hose systems.
